Her mother is not happy that Pam’s degrees are stored under her bed. Refresh and try again. Mar 22, Julia Putnam rated it liked it. And why their blood was so sacred. It is just so dreary, scraping water off leaves, getting beaten by chains, healing with special Water, blah, blah, blah.
Ruby’s mother infuriated me, as did the Elders in the story. But if Ruby leaves, her community is condemned to certain death. Maybe it’ll help somebody else. It’s as though the author pm to the darkest place in your mind or into one of drojght nightmares are and set her novel there. He doesn’t get the idea that these abused people might not you know, like Overseers, and Ruby’s the same.
It’s not the type that’s impossible in this world, if you get my meaning.
Or maybe that’s drojght what she’s supposed to say. And also apparently knows the secret of Ruby’s blood, though it’s never explained why, or even how this guy got involved in the Water business since it’s portrayed as Darwin’s bachhorz from the beginning. The ending is a shocker. Her blood is special, so she is forced to collect water from plants to mix her blood with it?! There was a problem adding your email address.
Apparently he’s a nice boy, aside from the fact that he’s part of a group that regularly beats the Congregation. So knowing that it was hard for me to watch her act so immaturely and let her mother make her decisions for her. I found a couple drougnt the characters engaging.
But I liked it anyway — I was so curious what was going to happen and despite my frustrations with Ruby, I also felt a lot of sympathy for her. Ruby is the Daughter of Otto, her cult’s leader who has left his flock.
The man is evil. The Congregants lead an almost intolerable existence, enduring constant beatings and starvation while taking strength from their cult-like religion. It was as dry as its title implies. I want to know how he found them, how they came to worship him – is he worthy of the worship or was he manipulating these people?
Preview — Drought by Pam Bachorz. We hear a lot about how the blood is special, but are never once told bachlrz. Today I’m the one who will be doing the saving. This book could have been so much better. The government isn’t oppressing these people, it’s one man and I have no clue how he’s gotten away with it for droughh long besides droughtt hiring of muscle and not revealing their secret. When I first picked this book up, I thought it was going to be a dystopian – not the case – and was kind of confused as to why the entire situation was happening in the first place.

I’ll most likely want to read the sequel, because even though I had some issues with the story I enjoyed the writing and Ruby’s voice. I did not like that.
Maybe it’ll help somebody else. But Otto disappears, leaving nothing 4. It is not a dystopian story at all but rather a gut-wrenching realistic view into what a brainwashing cult in today’s world could be like. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Okay, some explanation was given, but it was all muddled, unconvincing and made no sense. What is bbachorz book, dystopian, christian allegory? Collection of Favorite Book Quotes February 9, No one in the book changes from beginning to end, except for Ruby admitting maybe love is possible.
Otto is not coming back – he came out of the woods and Ruby’s mother fell in love with him. First thing I have to ask is, Where the heck was the world building? Anyway there has to be a sequel that explains everything! While I enjoyed reading the story, it also kind of made me mad.
She and her people believe they will be saved by a man named Otto, who fled from them around years ago. So after years and their main adversary dead, the Congregation decides to figure droyght life out.
