The tactics are so well explained, and in an exciting manner too. I remember, that I had borrowed the book from the best chess player in the school and I had only a few days with the book White a tipsy chess-playing computer ; Loacock a minor effort with traces of his best ; Milne, Lord Dunsany, Percival Wilde, etc.

Read it many years ago but, Dennis, you have piqued my interested so I will definitely have to read it again. While many of their works were aimed at near-beginners, some of their works are suitable for a broader audience, and this weekend I discovered one of them. There are several chapters comprising just over 20 pages on various sorts of problems.
